This kit contains 1 Anglo-Saxon style Cruck Frame House
These buildings are based on the Cruck frames commonly found in Anglo-Saxon houses.
They could be found all throughout the period of the Norman Conquest and the Barons’ War,
all the way up through the English Civil War and the Monmouth Rebellion.
Crucks are formed using two curved timbers, often halved, to form a stable frame,
upon which further construction could continue.
‘Godwin makes his living as a basket-weaver, with his home sitting near the centre of town.
While small, the house is well situated for his trade, allowing him to sell to anyone, even those
just passing through to somewhere else.’
